Woman's City Club (WCC) is holding a free public forum titled Cincinnati's Community Councils: a crucial link or an obstacle to development? from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Tuesday, October 21st at the First Unitarian Church (536 Linton St.) in Avondale.
There will be a reception from 5:30 to 6 PM, then a panel discussion from 6 to 7 PM where,
- Elizabeth Bartley - Executive Director for Invest in Neighborhoods
- Jacqueline Edmerson - President of Bond Hill Community Council
- Amber Kassem - President of East Price Hill Improvement Association
- Dave Mann - Former Mayor and City Council Member
- Sue Wilke - Co-chair of WCC's Civic Engagement Action Team
will be moderated by Cheri Rekow, WCC's Vice President for Civic Engagement, and discuss questions including:
Are community councils still a "crucial link" in city governance? Does their role need to be clarified? How is community input gathered, represented and valued in decision-making? Is there a better way to do civic engagement? How should Community Councils be supported?
